CHE Trinity Health Names Benjamin R. Carter Chief Financial Officer

Carter's appointment follows a national search for an executive to lead the financial operations of one of the largest Catholic health systems in the nation. With 25 years of healthcare finance experience, he has most recently served as executive vice president, finance since CHE Trinity Health was formed in May 2013.

As CHE Trinity Health's CFO, Carter will lead enterprise-wide financial management and reporting, strategic financial and capital planning, budget development, revenue cycle management and strategic payer alliances. His responsibilities also include oversight of treasury services, insurance and risk management, debt management and investor relations.

Carter joined Trinity Health in 2010 from the Detroit Medical Center where he served as executive vice president and chief operating officer. Prior to leading DMC operations, Carter spent nearly 20 years in executive-level positions at Oakwood Healthcare in Dearborn, Mich.

He is an alumnus of the University of Michigan where he graduated magna cum laude with an MBA and bachelor's degree in business administration and is a certified public accountant and a Fellow of the Healthcare Financial Management Association.
