(Daily Record, The (Wooster, OH) Via Acquire Media NewsEdge) Delta Kappa Gamma When Alpha Theta chapter of Delta Kappa Gamma society met March 10 at Orrville Elementary School, guest Margaret Sanders and member Deb Bukovitz presented a talk and discussion on the many and diverse apps available for smartphones.



They showed everything from a useful flashlight app to the many children's apps available, such as Easy-Bake Treats. Sanders said there were over 1,000,000 apps available by the end of 2013. They demonstrated how to download the apps, and explained that many are free, but some cost money. There is everything from shopping aides, to library books, to music in all genres. They even showed the group how to keep track of a personal exercise program.

President Rita McAllister reminded members that registration is due for the state convention on April 4. Jane Slater reminded the group about the need for yarn and knitting needles at Every Woman's House. Also items and gift cards are always welcome.


Edith Swank talked about the summer field trip to Cleveland on June 19. The cost is $62. The AAUW group has been invited to also attend. Money is to be sent to Mary Hetrick. McAllister also announced the spring banquet will be May 5 at The Wooster Inn, at 6 p.m.
