UW-Eau Claire AMA Case Team Makes Finals

(Targeted News Service Via Acquire Media NewsEdge) EAU CLAIRE, Wis., Feb. 12 -- The University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire issued the following news release: For the third year in a row, the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire American Marketing Association (AMA) case team has been named a Top 10 finalist in the annual AMA International Collegiate Case Competition.

Members of the UW-Eau Claire AMA case team are Michael Boucher, a marketing major from Beaver Dam, WI; Phillip Dickinson, a marketing analytics major from Weston, WI; Nathaniel Guralski, a marketing major from Marathon, WI; Katherine Hammel, a marketing analytics major from Waukesha, WI and Megan Lipari, a marketing analytics major from Austin, MN. Dr. Scott Swanson (Management & Marketing) is their faculty adviser.

The 2013-14 case challenged teams to develop a comprehensive relaunch campaign for Take 5, a Hershey Company chocolate snack that combines pretzels, caramel, peanuts and peanut butter. Student teams worked on the case during the fall semester and submitted a written version of their campaign to AMA in December. A blind review process was used to evaluate all submissions. Based on the evaluations of 113 professional judges, the AMA Collegiate Chapter Council Selection Committee picked the Top 10 finalists. These teams will present their campaigns to a panel of Hershey executives during the 36th Annual International Collegiate Conference in New Orleans. The winning team will be awarded $3,000. Second, third and fourth place teams will receive $2,000, and the remaining six teams will receive $1,000.

Other Top 10 finalists in addition to UW-Eau Claire are British Columbia Institute of Technology, Cleveland State University, Ferris State University, North Central College, Temple University, Texas State University, University of Arizona, University of Maryland, and University of Pennsylvania.
