New App Helps People Keep Their Loved Ones Close

(PR Web Via Acquire Media NewsEdge) London (PRWEB UK) 23 February 2014 As we all lead increasingly busy lives many people see the rise of smartphones as detrimental to social interaction, as people focus on their thumbs and screens rather than the people around them. However, a new app development company TECHSIS are launching a range of applications designed to humanise smart phones and make people feel less isolated.

The founder of TECHSIS, Nana Fatimah Ogunfemi, came up with the idea for the first app Kinship, while struggling with depression and difficult personal circumstances. After breaking up from her husband Nana moved into temporary accommodation with a baby and a 3 year old child, and with most of her family still in Africa, felt extremely isolated and lonely.

Rather than continue to struggle in silence, Nana Fatimah decided to take control of her own destiny and set up an app development company, while juggling the challenges of raising two young children. She got a place on a pilot business course with HBV Enterprises in Hackney, who provided her with the know how to make the most of her entrepreneurial spirit, and working with a team of developers has now built an app that will help thousands of others who feel isolated and lonely to stay connected to the people they care about.

The first app from TECHSIS, Kinship is a free social awareness and safety app designed to help users keep track of the people they care about. Users can set up circles for groups – whether that is immediate family, distant relatives or friends – so they can instantly check their loved ones are okay, without needing to keep taking the time out to call, text or email.

Using GPS technology, Kinship users are able to quickly share where they are in the world, who they are with and a simple message, but crucially, the app features stringent privacy settings so users have the ability to control exactly who will see each post.

Kinship is a perfect solution for people who have family and loved ones spread out across the country, or even the world, as was the case for Nana Fatimah Ogunfemi. As more and more young people choose to go off traveling on gap years, Kinship is the perfect solution for parents wanting to know their children are safe and well, rather than waiting anxiously for the next telephone call.

With Kinship you’ll always be part of someone’s circle, and your loved ones will always be part of yours.

Kinship is available to download now for free, or for more information on Techsis and their further range of apps in development go to
