Nexon Korea's Mabinogi: Heroes Exceeds 100,000 Concurrent Users

TOKYO --(Business Wire)--

NEXON Co., Ltd. ("Nexon") (3659.TO), a worldwide leader in free-to-play online games, today announced that its action RPG, Mabinogi: Heroes (Vindictus), achieved a new all-time user record, exceeding 100,000 maximum concurrent users ("MCCU") in Korea on January 12, 2014.

Mabinogi: Heroes (Vindictus), launched in Korea by Nexon's subsidiary NEXON Korean Corporation in December 2009, is an action RPG that combines high-quality graphics and physics with high-speed combat. It was the world's first online action RPG to incorporate the Source (News - Alert) engine, enabling realistic in-game action such as throwing debris, shattering walls and lifelike renderings to provide players around the world with a truly immersive experience.

MCCU is generally used to measure the popularity of a game. Mabinogi: Heroes' (Vindictus) content updaes and promotional events timed for winter vacation were well-received by users, resulting in an increase of over 200% unique visitors and average concurrent users following the update. The introduction of a new character "Lynn" was especially well received, contributing to a significant increase in new users. The peak MCCU following the update nearly doubled the previous record of 55,000 set in January 2013.

Nexon has over 15 years of history as a leader in free-to-play gaming, and will continue to bring innovative, quality games to PCs, mobile phones and tablets worldwide.
