Vice-President: Alstom company interested in cooperation with Azerbaijan


May 30, 2013 (Trend News Agency - McClatchy-Tribune Information Services via COMTEX) -- GENEVA, Switzerland -- Alstom company is interested in cooperation with Azerbaijan, Senior Vice President of Alstom Transport on CIS, Bernard Gonnet said at a press conference in Geneva.



"We are interested in cooperation with Azerbaijan for two reasons: first, it is a country that passes through intensive modernization, and second, accordingly, there is a need for new technologies and new types of products," Gonnet said.

He said there are three directions, which are of great interest for the company in Azerbaijan.


"These are freight or passenger locomotives, signalization and trams," Gonnet said.

He said Ganja city is of special interest for the company.

"It is planned to launch subway line in Ganja, and we plan to offer a "turn-key" project with all necessary elements for its implementation to the city's authorities," Gonnet said.

Alstom Transport develops and markets a complete range of systems, equipment and service in the railway industry. The company also operates in the rail infrastructure market, designing, producing and installing infrastructure for the rail network to upgrade safety and performance of existing networks, or as part of new turn-key solutions.
