By Light Secures CS2-SB Task Order to Supply Satcom Solution to Missile Defense AgencyMay 14, 2013 (Close-Up Media via COMTEX) -- By Light Professional IT Services, Inc., a Custom SATCOM Solutions - Small Business (CS2-SB) prime contractor, was awarded a task order to provide satellite bandwidth and terrestrial services to the Missile Defense Agency (MDA) in support of the Ballistic Missile Defense Program (BMD) in November 2012. The three year contract (1 year base and 2 options years) is valued at nearly $4 million. By Light's CS2-SB Solutions Architect, Keith Bodiford said, "Our solution optimizes network performance while minimizing the transition risk - both key factors in supporting this important customer." According to a release, CS2-SB allows federal agencies to acquire professional satellite engineering services and build custom satellite solutions with small business industry partners. Solutions include satellite transport (bandwidth), fixed or mobile satellite service, and service-enabling components such as terminals, handsets, and tail circuits with engineering services to integrate, operate, and maintain the solution.
