Oracle Japan Focuses on IT System Initiative for Electric Industry in Japan

Apr 26, 2013 (M2 PRESSWIRE via COMTEX) -- Sparks new proposals for electric companies in Japan by utilizing Oracle's best practice of electric utilities deregulation and separation of electricity generation and transmission/distribution in overseas markets TOKYO, Japan -- The Electricity System Reform , pursued by the Japanese Government, aims to achieve three purposes: [i] securing the stable supply of electricity, [ii] suppressing electricity rates to the maximum extent possible and [iii] providing consumers with choices as well as business operators with opportunities to expand their businesses. To achieve these goals, a dramatic reform will be steadily carried out according to a realistic schedule, focusing on the following three pillars: Expanding operations of wide-area electrical grids; Fully liberalizing the electricity retail market into which retail entities are able to enter; and Further securing neutrality of the power transmission/distribution sector through the legal structural separation and fully liberalizing electricity rates*.

With this, Oracle Japan will focus on two pillars: liberalization of the electricity retail market and the separation of electricity generation and transmission/distribution.

Oracle Japan's initiatives can enhance propositions to electric companies, new power producer and suppliers (PPS), public agencies and local governments in Japan by taking advantage of its expertise and best practices of electric utilities deregulation and separation of electricity generation and transmission/distribution in overseas markets, including North America, Europe, and Asia.
