Lowrance Link-2 The Lowrance Link-2 is a feature-rich, free-floating, handheld Class D digital selective calling (DSC) compliant VHF radio that offers Man Over Board (MOB) functionality and storage for up to 500 waypoints. Ideal for everyday use or convenient storage in an emergency kit, the Link-2 features a built-in GPS receiver and the added convenience of a simple plotter with Great Circle waypoint navigation. Rugged and reliable, the radio is equipped with a large 128x128 pixel LCD with adjustable contrast settings and backlighting, enhanced 700mW audio output and prominent channel display that is easy to view in both bright sunlight and at night. Offering Lowrance's exclusive 'Track-Your-Buddy' feature, users can pinpoint and display the exact location of other vessels using position polling techniques. The handheld's 'Get Buddy' feature transmits the radio's position with a simple push of a button, allowing buddies to receive bearing and distance data from the radio on other Link-2 units. The feature-packed Link-2 VHF/GPS marine radio also includes a choice of high or low (5W to 1W) transmission power; latitude, longitude and time display; a distress call button with hinged door; the ability to select and program up to three favorite channels on a dedicated key; flexible dual- and tri-watch for greater channel monitoring; weather alerts; plus an easily accessible buddy list of up to 20 people. The unit comes with a belt clip, wristband, rubber duck antenna, desktop charger with 120V AC wall adapter and a 7.4V 1400mAh Li-ion battery pack. Providing additional convenience, the handheld's power-saving circuitry allows the radio to hold a battery charge for up to 11 hours while under GPS function and is NMEA 0183 compatible when in the charger dock.

In addition to reliable location information, when used with a compatible Lowrance HDS Gen2, HDS Gen2 Touch or Elite-7 series display, the Point-1 greatly enhances navigational information by providing accurate course over ground (COG) data at any speed and enabling radar overlay on charts. Delivering a configurable update rate - 1Hz, 5Hz or 10Hz - for smooth and precise location updates, the GPS features an advanced chipset that offers enhanced time-to-first-fix and supports multiple Global Navigation Satellite Systems (GNSS). The high-precision antenna will also communicate with GPS, GLONASS and WAAS/EGNOS/MSAS.
