China introduces special funding for satellite industrialization programBEIJING, Jan 25, 2013 (Xinhua via COMTEX) -- China's National Development and Reform Committee and the Ministry of Finance had notified the provincial governments to report their satellite industrialization programs for a special funding, China Securities Journal reported on Thursday. The special funding aims to encourage satellite enterprises to expand their business; develop innovative technologies; foster companies from the up, middle, and downstream to conduct R&D and application jointly; and give early support to leading companies with comprehensive advantages as well as large projects with contract values of over 30 million yuan each. This year, innovation in the business application models of satellite remote sensing is being encouraged. Key development fields supported by the special funding program include applications in satellite communication, satellite navigation, satellite remote sensing, and satellite development foundations.
