BRIEF: Gustin named full-time coach

SOLON, Nov 13, 2012 (The Gazette - McClatchy-Tribune Information Services via COMTEX) -- Out with the "interim." The Solon Community School District announced Tuesday that volleyball coach Peter Gustin will have the "interim" tag removed from his title and will be the head volleyball coach at Solon High School moving forward.

"Coach Gustin did a fabulous job this year and we couldn't have been happier with his performance," said Solon Athletics Director Keith McSweeney. "We have been impressed with Peter since the first time he walk through our doors, and we are even more confident in his abilities after observing him this season." Gustin, 24, was named interim coach shortly after former coach Kurt Trout resigned on the first day of the season. Gustin led Solon to a Class 4A runner-up finish at the state volleyball tournament last week. The Spartans were Wamac Conference tournament champions.
