Telerik's Kendo UI Expands to Support Mobile App Development

Telerik, an end-to-end provider of software application lifecycle and content management solutions, announces the next major release of Kendo UI Complete, a collection of Web, DataViz (News - Alert) and Mobile tools targeted at professional software developers providing everything needed for front-end development with JavaScript and HTML5 for sites and mobile apps.

Building on top of the popular jQuery JavaScript library, Kendo UI leverages the latest in CSS3, HTML5, and JavaScript web standards, while still delivering broad support for all major browsers, including Internet Explorer, Firefox, Chrome, Safari, Opera, and mobile browsers on iOS and Android (News - Alert).

The official Q1 2012 release of Kendo UI includes the following three tools:

• Kendo UI Web ($399)
• Kendo UI DataViz ($399) - A dedicated suite of HTML5-powered data visualization widgets, including animated charts and, with the latest release, gauges.
• Kendo UI Mobile ($199) - Rich application framework and HTML5 JavaScript UI widgets built specifically for solving the problems of developing mobile apps with HTML5.

Kendo UI Web is available under Commercial or Open Source (News - Alert) (GPLv3) licenses, making it accessible to a diverse range of projects. Kendo UI DataViz and Mobile are only available under a commercial license.

A commercial license for all three Kendo UI tools can be purchased together for $699.
