LANSA and SA2 Worldsync Partner to Deliver On-Boarding Solutions to the GS1 Global Data Synchronisation Network (GDSN)

ST. ALBANS, UNITED KINGDOM and COLOGNE, GERMANY, Jan 26, 2012 (Marketwire via COMTEX) -- LANSA and SA2 Worldsync enter a joint marketing agreement to deliver a complete industry solution for secure and continuous synchronisation of product item data. LANSA's Product Information Management (PIM) software - Data Sync Direct - is a widely used on-boarding solution. SA2 Worldsync GmbH is a leading global provider of data synchronization and master data management services with a significant presence in more than 30 countries, including powering GS1 country data pools in various global markets. LANSA and SA2 Worldsync will combine their efforts to promote adoption of GS1 standards and the Global Data Synchronisation Network (GDSN) to improve product data quality between trading partners in the Retail, Manufacturing, Distribution, Wholesale, Foodservice and Healthcare sectors.

Connected to the GDSN, trading partners always have the latest information in their systems, and any changes made to one company's database are automatically and immediately provided to all of the other companies who do business with them. When a supplier and a customer know they are looking at the same accurate and up-to-date data, it is smoother, quicker and less expensive for them to do business together. LANSA Data Sync Direct connects one or more back-end ERP systems with the GDSN so that item data can be published in accordance with internal master data policies and GS1 standards.

Regulatory changes, legislation and consumer demand all place an increasing strain on brand owners to keep their product item data up-to-date and completely accurate. The management of multiple product attributes across multiple stock-keeping units is a heavy burden and the manual resource required to manage this activity is considerable. When complexity meets manual processes the inevitable result is data inaccuracies across different systems and throughout the entire supply chain - potentially costing EURmillions in errors, remedial actions and lost revenue. The GDSN is the solution and having LANSA Data Sync Direct integrated and certified by SA2 Worldsync gives participants a simple and efficient way to manage and synchronise their product data.

"This partnership represents a milestone in the maturity of the GDSN market in Europe and beyond. We experienced tremendous growth in the North American market where the GDSN concept first took root in 2003 and this partnership with SA2 Worldsync is a critical part of our plan to replicate this success across the EMEA region and beyond." said Martin Fincham, LANSA's Group COO and General Manager for EMEA. "New members to the GDSN need a relationship with their local GS1 organisation and must then choose a data pool provider for connectivity and a PIM vendor for on-boarding. The goal of this partnership is to streamline that whole process and thereby accelerate adoption of GS1 standards in the supply chain to everyone's mutual benefit." "With this partnership, SA2 Worldsync will offer trading partners one more possibility to retrieve or send high quality data via an easy access to the GDSN" says Nihat Arkan, Chief Executive Officer of SA2 Worldsync. "In addition, LANSA partnership will enable our customers, representing multiple industries, easily managing their master and trading data within their in-house systems efficiently."
