Afore Secures Hybrid Clouds with vCloud Connector integration, VXLAN WAN Encryption and Secure Virtual StorageOct 07, 2011 (Close-Up Media via COMTEX) -- Afore Solutions, a provider of cloud security and management solutions, announced it has released a security platform for the hybrid public and private cloud. According to Afore, the company's integration of CloudLink with VMware vCloud Connector enables secure and monitored deployment of user applications from an enterprise to the public cloud. Specific features include point and click deployment, advanced SLA monitoring and Trust Watch, a real time security feature which provides continuous cloud security monitoring. As a further level of vCloud integration, CloudLink virtual appliances provide AES-256 encrypted secure storage within the cloud datacenter while ensuring enterprises maintain control of encryption keys. This allows enterprises to take advantage of the scalability of the hybrid cloud environment without exposing mission-critical and security-sensitive applications to third-party vulnerabilities. "Afore CloudLink provides important additional layers of security between clouds including those that make use of VMware vCloud Director and can replace or significantly augment VMware's solutions for such clouds," said Edward Haletky, CEO and Analyst for The Virtualization Practice. The new capabilities announced also include encrypted VXLAN wide area extension expanding the CloudLink portfolio to next generation hybrid cloud environment. The VXLAN technology standard greatly expands the range of virtual networks available for multi-tenant cloud datacenters by encapsulating virtual machine data in a Layer 3 outer wrapper. This provides the basis for a new suite of networking capabilities offering greater scale and customer isolation in the cloud. The CloudLink Trusted Multi-Tenancy solution securely extends customers' enterprise networks, while end-to-end encryption of network traffic and cloud-based storage protects sensitive data in a multi-tenant environment. CloudLink virtual appliances protect and monitor network traffic between the client and cloud center and provide secure NFS datastores for virtual machines while maintaining full enterprise control of their encryption keys and security policies.
