Nexsan Exhibits E5000 Family of NAS Storage Systems at VMworld 2011

Sep 02, 2011 (Close-Up Media via COMTEX) -- Nexsan, an independent provider of disk-based storage systems, announced the public demonstration of the company's E5000 series of NAS storage systems at VMworld 2011 in Las Vegas.

The Company said the E5000 systems complement Nexsan's E-Series Fibre Channel and iSCSI block storage systems and the CAS-based Assureon archive and cloud storage systems.

During VMworld 2011, Nexsan is demonstrating the E5000 family of NAS storage systems featuring FASTier, which transparently boosts performance for random I/O workloads including applications that are run on top of virtualized computing environments such as VMware.

Two models of Nexsan's E5000 family will be shown at this year's event, the E5110 and E5310. The E5110 provides a highly available NAS system with 8TB to 62TB of capacity in 3U to 6U of rack space. The E5310 is a 3U high availability NAS head which leverages the storage density, power efficiency, and enterprise-class reliability of the Nexsan E-Series block storage systems to provide 9TB to 720TB of storage in 19U of rack space.

"We are pleased to showcase our latest generation storage systems at a premier venue like VMworld 2011," said Victoria Grey, SVP, Marketing, Nexsan. "The new line gives IT professionals everything they are looking for in a virtual storage solution with advantages in performance, capacity, efficiency and reliability. The E5000 family aligns with those organizations looking to get the most out of their virtualized environments while reducing both capital and operating costs."
