BYO personal hardware

Jul 07, 2011 (BRW - ABIX via COMTEX) -- Australian law firm Freehills is moving to a new system that aims to make it easier for its staff to telecommute. The firm had used a virtual private network (VPN) and laptops, but is now implementing a Citrix-based virtualised desktop system. Nicole Bamforth, Freehills' director of knowledge, information and technology, says improved productivity was one of the main motivations for the move to Citrix. The Citrix system can be accessed via a range of hardware, including iPhones and telephone, while infrastructure manager Gary Adler says its level of security is also attractive.
