Apple adds new devices to Samsung lawsuit(Benzinga Lightning Feed Via Acquire Media NewsEdge) Earlier this week, we reported on a new statement made by Apple in regards to its lawsuit against Samsung. Apple claims that Samsung's request to see design templates for the unreleased next-generation iPhone and iPad is an “attempt to harass” and has nothing to do with the lawsuit itself. This comes after Samsung was ordered to hand over product designs for five unreleased devices so Apple can decide whether to pursuit the lawsuit or not. Yesterday, Apple added a slew of Samsung-branded devices to the lawsuit, claiming that all of them have design ideas, both physically and software wise, from iOS. Some of the devices added to the list are set to be handed over to Apple today by Samsung. Many of the changes are designed to portray Samsung's alleged infringement as an incredibly outrageous act of copying. The original complaint already accused Samsung of “slavishly copying” Apple's designs. The amended one stresses that Samsung “has been even bolder” than other competitors emulating Apple's products and has created “products that blatantly imitate the appearance of Apple's products to capitalize on Apple's success.” Apple has added the following devices to the lawsuit: Droid Charge, Exhibit 4G, Galaxy Ace, Galaxy Prevail, Galaxy S (i9000), Gravity, Infuse 4G, Nexus S 4G, Replenish, Sidekick, Galaxy Tab 10.1, and Galaxy S II. These are in addition to the original 15 models. No word yet on whether Samsung followed through with the court's order to hand over those future product designs. |
