BRIEF: Azerbaijani computer market increases by 11.4 percent in 2010


Jun 02, 2011 (Trend News Agency - McClatchy-Tribune Information Services via COMTEX) -- JUNE 2 / , Azerbaijan, Baku -- Azerbaijani computer market increased by 11.4 percent as of 2010, a report prepared by the analytic agency IDC said.

According to IDC, the capacity of the computer market in Azerbaijan as of 2010 exceeded 158,000 units. About 51.6 percent fell to desktops and 48.4 percent -- portable devices.

So, x86 servers supplies reduced by 18 percent compared to 2009. Last year, the country received 1,150 units of these servers.

According to IDC, portable computers supplies increased by 14.7 percent supply over the last year. It is stipulated by an increase in consumer demand among the population.

As opposed to laptops, desktop systems decreased by 6.2 percent.



HP is the leader in the computer market. It had 33.2 percent. The total volume of portable and desktop computers supplies of such vendors as HP, Acer and Toshiba reached 52 percent. According to IDC, this trend will continue in the coming years. It will be stipulated by the commitment of consumers in corporate and consumer segments in one or another brand.

In general, about 36,800 printers and copiers, including 17,900 units of laser devices were supplied to the country.
