PCI Awarded Texas DIR Satellite Services Contract

SAN ANTONIO --(Business Wire)--

Proactive Communications, Inc. (PCI (News - Alert)), a Texas-based satellite telecommunications company, today announced at the 2011 Texas Emergency Management Conference that it was awarded one of the first fixed satellite services contracts from the Texas Department of Information Resources (DIR) under the Tex-AN Next Generation (NG) Communications Technology Services (CTS (News - Alert)) program.

These satellite services can provide rapid support for the upcoming hurricane season, other disaster assistance scenarios, communications interoperability, and other situations that require reliable long distance communications in austere areas.

Headquartered in Killeen, PCI has supported various U.S. and Texas Government entities with fixed satelite services since 2003. The company was instrumental in supporting FEMA during Hurricane Katrina relief and reconstruction efforts. PCI has satellite telecommunications equipment in five teleports worldwide and will be supporting Texas DIR from Mt. Jackson, Virginia.

"We are honored and excited to support Texas agencies under the Tex-AN NG contract," said PCI CEO Marc LeGare. "As a Texas company with worldwide experience, PCI is ideally suited to support our state government and their first responders or other agencies that have long distance communications needs."
