AT&T to introduce mobile hotspot app later this month

(Telecomworldwire Via Acquire Media NewsEdge) US communications holding company AT&T (NYSE:T) yesterday unveiled plans to launch its Mobile Hotspot application.

With the new app selected smartphone customers will be able to connect multiple devices from their smartphone, via Wi-Fi.

The AT&T Mobile Hotspot app will be available from 13 February, coinciding with the in-store launch of the HTC Inspire 4G.

It offers 2GB of data usage for USD20 a month and the combined AT&T Data Pro plan plus AT&T Mobile Hotspot will give users 4GB of data usage for USD45 per month.

Additionally, AT&T said that in order to bring its smartphone tethering plan in line with the AT&T Mobile Hotspot offer, AT&T will automatically add the additional 2GB of monthly data usage to smartphone customers already on a tethering plan, at no extra charge.
