NetQin Mobile Inc., a global provider of mobile security services, revealed that its CEO and founder, Dr. Lin Yu, recently participated in an interactive discussion of 'What does the world really need to know about modern China?' at World Economic Forum Annual Meeting 2011 in Davos, Switzerland. Dr. Lin was the only Chinese entrepreneur on the panel of distinguished officials and academic leaders from China. The conference was held from Jan. 26 to 30.

World Economic Forum selected NetQin in September 2010 as a Technology Pioneer 2011. NetQin became China's first company to be honored for its innovation, transformational technology, leadership and substantial long-term impact on businesses and society.

'On behalf of NetQin, I am proud to have been able to participate in this important discussion and help foster greater understanding of the unique and exciting business environment in China," stated Dr. Lin. "The growth of the mobile communications market in China in particular requires that the entire world think in new ways about the needs of mobile users for security and privacy. NetQin has always aimed to deliver innovative solutions, and intends to remain a pioneer in this space.'
Providing his perspective on Internet business opportunities and challenges, Dr. Lin said, 'In China, the Internet has completely changed people's lives. Today there are more than 300 million internet users in China. This large population of Internet users has helped to fuel many of today's successful Internet companies. Secondly, we believe the mobile Internet will bring to China even more business opportunities as we are seeing the rapid expansion of various devices being connected to the mobile Internet, including not only smartphones, but also tablets, mobile Internet television and home appliances, and mobile healthcare sensors.'
Dr. Lin also shared his insights on mobile technology and investment opportunities, 'More and more innovations are being made in China in the field of mobile Internet. There are four key factors for innovation, including new industry requirements, talented scientists and engineers, available venture capital, and an overall spirit of entrepreneurship. These four factors have helped to make Silicon Valley a center for global technology innovation. Today, we see these same factors within China and as China is the largest mobile phone market in the world, we have the capability to become the leader in mobile innovation.'
