Exclaim Unveils New Cloud Service to Enable Carriers to Monetize User-generated Content

PRINCETON, N.J. --(Business Wire)--

Exclaim Mobility, the leading provider of user-generated content (UGC) socialization applications for mobile consumers, announced the upcoming availability of the Snap™ UGC Cloud Service. The Snap UGC Cloud Service creates a new way for service providers to monetize UGC subscriber flow through their networks, a currently untapped revenue source. The service will enable subscribers to access, socialize, store and track digital content across virtually any consumer electronics (CE) device, such as mobile handsets, game consoles and digital photo frames, regardless of where the content is located.

The Snap UGC Cloud Service is the next generation end-to-end UGC management solution. The service goes beyond any existing photo and video sharing service to provide the broadest range of content socialization features and supported devices. With Snap, consumers can access UGC regardless of where it is located from any Snap-enabled device. Content can be located on various social community and UGC storage portals, personal CE devices, as well as "friends'" CE devices. The Snap UGC Cloud Service drives further mobile usage and adoption through various Snap CE device applications, messaging and notification features, advanced sharing options and unlimited storage, as well as tracking and graphing of UGC accessed by oth users and their friends.

"With the Snap UGC Cloud Service, service providers can add value and generate revenue from the photo and video traffic already passing through their networks to popular social media and content sharing services and other storage devices," said Jiren Parikh (News - Alert), president and CEO of Exclaim Mobility. "The socialization and sharing features of Snap will also drive additional revenue through data plan sales, SMS and MMS messaging for our carrier partners."

The Snap platform consists of a UGC management gateway, Developer APIs, Snap Mylife™ UGC storage and tracking server and either Snap server-side or on-device applications for various consumer electronics hardware. The standardized XML APIs allow third-party developers, mobile handset and other CE hardware vendors to integrate UGC access and socialization capabilities into their product and service functionality. Since it is deployed in the cloud, the Snap UGC Cloud Service requires no up-front investments, no minimum hardware, software or bandwidth provisioning to launch the solution. The platform is carrier-grade, self-scaling and fully redundant.

Availability

The complete end-to-end Snap UGC Cloud Service for service providers is scheduled to launch in the first quarter of 2011. Multiple standalone applications, including Snap TV™, Snap Frames™ and Snap MyLife UGC portal will be available earlier.

Exclaim (News - Alert) already released Snap Mobile™, the most advanced UGC management app on the market for feature phones and smartphones. Snap Mobile provides automatic phone backup of UGC to social media sites, the ability to print photos to Walgreens for pickup in an hour, access their friends' UGC, tweeting photo and videos and in-device menu integration. Snap Mobile allows subscribers to share, message and personalize UGC, regardless of whether it is located on a phone or anywhere in the cloud. Snap Mobile will be upgraded in the first quarter of 2011 to include support for Android and iPhone (News - Alert), as well as the ability to access UGC from other Snap-enabled CE devices.

Snap™ UGC Gateway and Developer APIs will be completed by December 2010, with documentation and sample code. Beta applications, technical data and architecture information will also be available in December 2010 for evaluation and testing.
