Airband Communications Offers Voice over IP (VoIP) Services in Baltimore

Jun 25, 2010 (Close-Up Media via COMTEX) -- Airband Communications, Inc., a fixed-wireless company for businesses in the U.S., announced a new suite of bundled voice and data offerings that gives Baltimore's small-to-midsize businesses (SMBs) enterprise-class communication services at costs well below what traditional providers can offer.

According to the Company, Baltimore businesses can save money with Airband because its voice and data services are delivered over the company's fixed-wireless last-mile network, bypassing the wireline local loop to provide cost savings for customers. Airband's voice and data services are delivered over one integrated Ethernet connection. The fixed-wireless network advantages make Airband an alternative to traditional local exchange carriers and cable providers.

"Airband is committed to providing Baltimore businesses, especially SMBs, with enterprise-class voice and data service options that they might not have today, while still meeting their need to reduce monthly telecom costs," said Chip Meacham, vice president and general manager of Airband's Baltimore-based East Region. "Baltimore businesses can now fully benefit from Airband's fixed-wireless voice and data services. Our VoIP service is provided over our private IP network, providing quality of service (QoS) that is on par with, and in many cases is better than the aging wired infrastructure of traditional telecom providers." The new bundled services provide customers with an extremely scalable Internet access pipe with a range of voice options. The Company noted the new voice solutions include: -Hosted VoIP - a fully managed VoIP service that lets businesses eliminate the hassles and cost of managing on-site phone systems. Airband's hosted VoIP service provides customers with the functionality of an enterprise system and the ability to customize calling features via a Web portal.

-Analog Line Replacement - allows customers with small PBXs and key systems to replace costly business lines from traditional telephony providers with lower-cost VoIP services, while keeping their existing phone system and functionality.

-PRI Replacement - medium-to-large enterprises can reduce costs by replacing their existing PRI service with Airband's VoIP Trunking service.

-SIP Trunking - customers with IP PBXs can save monthly expenses by leveraging Airband's SIP Trunking services.

Airband Communications, Inc., is a fixed-wireless broadband provider for businesses in the United States. The company offers a portfolio of high-speed data, Voice over IP, security and other managed solutions.
