Smurthwaite-Murphy will report directly to Westcon Group President and CEO, Dean Douglas. Smurthwaite-Murphy, a 23-year channel veteran, has an outstanding track record of consistent performance. She spent three years managing Westcon's convergence business in the U.S., and in her previous role as vice president/general manager of Westcon Canada Systems Inc., Lynn and her team: -- Achieved double digit revenue and margin growth in 2009 during a severe economic recession -- Became Cisco's fastest growing distributor year over year in 2009, during Comstor's first year of operation in Canada -- Deepened Westcon Canada's customer relations and expanded vendor offerings -- Led Westcon Canada to become one of IT Business' Top Five Newsmakers for 2009 Separately, Dan Forbes, formerly head of Westcon Canada's Cisco business, has been promoted to vice president, Westcon Canada.
