WIMP by Aspiro Music Shortlisted for International Meffy Awards in London

Aspiro Music has received confirmation that its music streaming service WiMP has been shortlisted for the international Meffys 2010, where the winner will be announced at the award ceremony in London in June.

Also shortlisted in the Meffys category for Best Music Service are companies Hungama Mobile for "Full Songs @ 1" Nokia for "All You Can Eat", Music Shazam (News - Alert) for "Shazam Encore" and Thumbplay for "Thumbplay Music". Last years winner was 24-7 Entertainment for "TDC Play".

As the industry's official benchmark for measuring success and rewarding innovation, the Meffys, now in their seventh year,recognize and honour the most influential mobile media  players from around the world. This year, entries cover over 60 countries, and it is judged by 45 journalists and analysts. Building on last year's sold-out gala event, The Mobile Entertainment Forum (News - Alert) are expecting over 400 international industry leaders and press to attend the Meffys gala dinner on 21 June in London this year.



Aspiro subsidiary Rubberduck Media Lab is also shortlisted for the in the category of Best TV and video service, for its solution delivered to T-Mobile (News - Alert).
