SpeakLike Launches 'Strings' Translation Service for IT Professionals

Apr 12, 2010 (Close-Up Media via COMTEX) -- SpeakLike, a provider of human translation services for SMBs, individuals, and enterprises, announced the availability of SpeakLike Strings, a service enabling developers and other IT professionals to translate any web content and localize software apps and user interface content into 35 languages.

The Company noted the news follows on the heels of the announcement of SpeakLike's free WordPress plugin for translating blog content.

"In today's global economy, software developers and marketers are increasingly catering to a worldwide audience and they understand the need to localize the user experience for end users in any language," said Sanford Cohen, SpeakLike Founder and CEO. "The SpeakLike Strings offering was designed with self-service, ease-of-use, and fast turnaround built in. You can simply establish an account with a turnaround time target, set up your quality improvement tools, load your string files, and then download your translated strings. When you update your content, you only pay for new translations." SpeakLike said its Translation-as-a-Service (TaaS) model uses the company's crowdsourcing team of thousands of SpeakLike translators located around the world alongside proprietary systems and processes designed to professionally manage workflow and handle output review and overall quality assurance. Customers initiate SpeakLike Strings projects via the company's secure web interface and may submit translation requests one at a time or in batch mode as a Java properties or CSV file.

"SpeakLike Strings has made it fast and easy for us to submit thousands of translation requests all at the same time," says Denis Kashkin, CTO of BedandBreakfast.com. "The fact that we can directly submit HTML with embedded data fields has saved us a lot of time. I can even track the progress of each project as the translators work on them and download the results whenever it's convenient for my team to immediately begin to incorporate the content into our website." The new SpeakLike Strings service is available effective immediately, the company noted in a release.
