Sound Shore Health System Selects Eclipsys to Build Integrated EHRFeb 23, 2010 (Close-Up Media via COMTEX) -- Eclipsys Corp. has announced that Sound Shore Health System (SSHS) will undergo an accelerated activation of Eclipsys' Sunrise Enterprise integrated suite of solutions at both its Sound Shore Medical Center of Westchester (New Rochelle, NY) and Mount Vernon Hospital (Mount Vernon, NY) facilities. In a release, the Company noted that the goal behind the information technology initiative is to create an integrated electronic health record (EHR) across SSHS's multiple care venues to improve the quality, safety and continuity of patient care. The automation of key healthcare processes also sets the stage for the community-based teaching hospitals to meet the expected "meaningful use" requirements of the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act (ARRA) of 2009. By qualifying for stimulus funds, SSHS looks to reinvest in further facility upgrades and support enhanced physician connectivity throughout the community.
