Policy, not race, deters Indians
Jan 07, 2010 (The Australian Financial Review - ABIX via COMTEX) -- There was a 160 per cent increase in the number of students from India enrolling in Australia's vocational education and training sector between 2006 and 2007. This growth was partially driven by more flexible rules for gaining permanent residency. However, the Federal Government was forced to tighten the requirements for permanent residency after evidence of widespread visa fraud emerged.
