NTT America Recaps Conference Participation


Jul 24, 2009 (Close-Up Media via COMTEX) -- NTT America, a U.S. subsidiary of NTT Communications (NTT Com) and an IP network services provider, announced the company has participated in and sponsored several key conferences in the first half of 2009 to offer its insights and perspectives on the evolving changes in Internet networking technology and business.



Of particular note, NTT America, for the first time, hosted the XXV Reunion Iberoamericana de Trafico Internacional in Miami during April, which brought together attendees from more than 20 countries and emphasized the growing interconnections of international business. As one of the biannual events hosted by AHCIET, the conference's timely theme was Asia-Pacific and Latin American Traffic Relations.

In addition, the company participated in a wide range of Internet and networking topics at: - 2009 CIO Leadership event in May - Kazuhiro Gomi, NTT America's CTO, discussed enterprise challenges to plan and operate strategic IT and networking infrastructure - Future-Net 2009 in May - Doug Junkins, Vice President of IP Engineering for the Global IP Network, spoke on a panel about the adoption of IPv6 among major carriers - Capacity USA 2009 in April - Kazuhiro Gomi spoke on a panel covering content delivery issues - Google's IPv6 Implementors Conference in March - Cody Christman, NTT America's Director of Product Engineering, discussed how to enhance existing networks to support both IPv6 and IPv4 as well as how to leverage the benefits IPv6 brings to current and emerging applications - Spring 2009 Channel Partners Conference & Expo in March - Company representatives met current and potential solution partners and discussed NTT America's Global IP Network (GIN) Solution Partners Program, a channel neutral initiative for qualified referral partners, agents and Value Added Resellers (VARs) - Capacity LATAM 2009 in March - Kazuhiro Gomi discussed growing demand for broadband delivered content and Doug Junkins moderated a panel on planning for future capacity investments - 12th Annual Congressional Internet Caucus Advisory Committee in January - Cody Christman was on hand to demonstrate IPTV over IPv6 - 2009 International CES in January - Cody Christman covered HDTV and multichannel TV multicast using IPv6 "We have expanded efforts to share our experiences and expertise with the global Internet community to help businesses stay ahead of the innovation curve," said Kazuhiro Gomi, COO and CTO of NTT America. "In addition to communicating with our customers and our industry through various conferences, we continue to make technology breakthroughs in support of business growth and continuity." In the first six months of the year NTT America also announced that the NTT Communications Global IP Network exceeded 200 Gigabits per second on the trans-Pacific portion of the network, the highest provisioned bandwidth currently available worldwide, according to the company. U.S. customers are using the NTT Communications Global IP Network, operated by NTT America, to reach customers, suppliers and international offices in Tokyo, Hong Kong, Singapore, Malaysia, Indonesia and Australia.
