Advanced American Telephones Introduces First AT&T Cordless Phones to Combine DECT 6.0 and Bluetooth(R) Wireless Capabilities

BEAVERTON, Ore., Oct. 13 /PRNewswire/ -- Advanced American Telephones, which manufactures AT&T-branded telephones under a license agreement with AT&T Intellectual Property, today announced its first cordless phone systems to combine Bluetooth connectivity with proprietary Digitally Enhanced Cordless Telecommunications (DECT) 6.0 antenna technology. These new systems allow users to connect a Bluetooth-enabled cell phone to the base unit for making and receiving cellular calls on the home phone system, taking advantage of the enhanced clarity and extended range of DECT technology.

Featuring a rich, sleek design and competitive price points, the dual-handset TL92278 (MSRP: $89.95) and triple-handset TL92328 (MSRP: $119.95) are now available online at http://www.telephones.att.com/ and major retail stores nationwide.

Easy-to-use Bluetooth Capabilities
When users connect a Bluetooth-enabled cell phone to the TL92278 or TL92328 base unit, they can make and receive cellular calls using the DECT cordless handsets. Taking a cellular call on the home phone system enables users to roam throughout the house with peace-of-mind that calls won't be dropped or missed due to poor cell phone reception, or while the cell phone charges in a different room. These systems also allow users to swap between cellular and home line calls.

Taking DECT Technology to a New Level
For even more freedom to roam throughout the home, the TL92278 and TL92328 feature state-of-the-art antenna technology for maximum range and interference-free clarity. DECT has been proven to deliver optimal voice and sound quality, high protection against eavesdropping and superior range, and DECT models do not interfere with wireless networks.

A recent, independent Wyle lab study found that the AT&T DECT phones provide 45 percent more talk range (up to 190 feet) than competing DECT phones.

For further flexibility, the AT&T Bluetooth DECT systems are expandable with up to 12 handsets (with the TL90078 accessory handset) only requiring one phone jack. A simultaneous off-hook feature also enables more than one handset to be active on a call.

"These systems offer the latest, most popular cordless phone technologies and are the most affordable on the market today with this level of feature-rich offerings," said Matt Ramage, senior vice president, product management, at Advanced American Telephones. "Combining Bluetooth with DECT gives consumers the ability to use the home phone system as the wireless communications hub for all calls in the house -- landline or cellular -- and get the best sound quality and range available."

The new AT&T TL92278 and TL92328 are perfect for every budget and household. Additional product details, including retail availability, can be found below.
