InfoVista Signs Reseller Pact with Merraton(Wireless News Via Thomson Dialog NewsEdge) InfoVista, a service-centric performance management software vendor, announced a partnership with Merraton, a provider of application performance management solutions. The partnership allows both companies to leverage each others' expertise in performance management to deliver end-to-end application management and monitoring solutions to service providers and enterprises. According to Yankee Group, a Boston-based market research firm, application performance management is one of the top five issues driving global network strategy. More than 70 percent of network managers actively troubleshoot application performance. But understanding application performance from the end-user perspective is difficult. "IT organizations are striving to proactively manage Quality of Service for business-critical web applications and IP Services and provide a seamless end-user experience," said Paul Schweikert III, Managing Partner, Merraton. "InfoVista's solutions are a natural extension to our offering. Through this partnership we are enhancing our portfolio of industry-leading end-to-end application performance management and monitoring solutions in order to help organizations achieve their goals." Under the terms of the agreement, Merraton will resell InfoVista's complete suite of performance management solutions in the Americas and will provide pre- and post-sales consulting services. InfoVista is providing Merraton with training, technologies and tools to enhance their application performance management service offering. The companies will also engage in joint sales and marketing opportunities. InfoVista's suite of performance management solutions for servers, networks and IP Telephony, coupled with the VistaWatch solution, bridges the gap between an organization's infrastructure and the end-user applications that run on top of it. With InfoVista's solution, Merraton will enable IT managers to ensure application availability, performance optimization and, predict, isolate and resolve service level degradations or interruptions before they affect the end-user. "Partners such as Merraton help position us to better respond to customer demand and take advantage of growing market opportunities," said Jay Stephenson, Director Channel and Alliances, InfoVista. "As business-critical applications like online banking and online retail bring IT and business closer together, Merraton's expertise in ensuring that application performance is consistent from development through post-production will play a critical role in success."
