The company now has 10 sites in the US and one each in Mexico, India, Ireland and Malaysia with ISO 20000 certification, an international standard for information technology (IT) service management, demonstrating compliance with IT best practices

In a statement issued by Multimedia Development Corp (MDeC) here today, ACS Malaysia country director, Othman Mohamed, said ACS' level of ISO 20000 certification was unmatched by any other company in the world

"This highlights the exceptional quality and consistency of our operations and processes. We remain driven to continue to set the standard for best-in-class IT operational performance," he said

Meanwhile, ACS International Services Delivery vice president, James Heldrich, said Malaysia offered a conducive environment and a good diversity of well-educated workforce with low attrition rate

"We are looking into placing 400 seats outside the US and with the ISO 20000, ACS Malaysia is at the top of the list for expansion

"ACS invests extensively in employee training and in the state-of-the-art compliance monitoring tools to ensure that its systems are in constant compliance," he said

Heldrich said the company performed daily, weekly and monthly testing of key performance indicators to verify across-the-board compliance with its IT operations

"ISO 20000 compliance demands a superior level of quality and consistency across data centers, with a method of service improvement linked to every process," he said

MDeC chief executive officer, Datuk Badlisham Ghazali, said even though it was a company's achievement, this was a significant milestone for MSC Malaysia in further establishing Malaysia as a global hub for information and communications technology (ICT) and multimedia innovation

"The achievement of the highest international standard in IT service management certification for its Cyberjaya office reflects on MSC Malaysia's world class support, strong supply of talent and impeccable ICT and physical infrastructure," he said

He said MDeC would continue to attract and support leading-edge organisations such as ACS to be part of the MSC Malaysia's development in the quest to promote transfer of world-class technologies and contribute towards the development of Malaysia's knowledge economy. Copyright 2007 Bernama
