DiVitas Networks Takes Techworld's 2007 Mobile Computing Product of the Year Award(Wireless News Via Thomson Dialog NewsEdge) DiVitas Networks, a company focusing on the emerging mobile-to-mobile convergence (MMC) market, announced it has won the prestigious Mobile Computing Product of the year award at Techworld's gala event last Wednesday, June 27th at Gibson Hall in London, England. DiVitas Networks mobilizes enterprise applications such as voicemail, IM, presence, email, PBX phone functions, CRM etc. over any network (enterprise- and public-WiFi and cellular). The DiVitas MMC solution consists of a Mobile Convergence Appliance (MCA) deployed inside the enterprise and a Mobile Convergence Client (MCC) embedded in popular handsets. The DiVitas MMC solution is mobile-network-, handset-, operating system-, carrier- and PBX- agnostic, creating a total mobile communications experience that remains under the complete control of the enterprise. The Techworld Awards 2007 recognize those vendors and their products which have made a significant advance in networking technology over the past year. From storage to wireless and even green products, this year Techworld identified and recognized those products which have changed the way network managers work and hopefully made their jobs easier. With over 200 entries each year, these products are considered a benchmark throughout the high-tech industry. The unique blend of awards for products, networking teams and individuals recognizes both sides of the industry -- the product vendors and the network managers and talent that implements the solutions. Entrants are evaluated on strategy, creativity, innovation, ease of use, price, features, functionality and effectiveness. An independent panel of judges of highly respected individuals from the IT industry and Techworld editors meet to select the shortlists and final winners. DiVitas beat out competitor list of heavyweights, including BlackBerry's Pearl 8100 smartphone, T-Mobile's MDA Vario II, Packeteer's Mobiliti 7.0 and Motorola's MC35 Mobile Computer. "DiVitas won the Mobile Computing product of the year award because the company's MMC solution squarely targets the enterprise need for converging voice and data and having the ability to seamlessly roam back and forth between WiFi to cellular. DiVitas also addresses the enterprise need to meet these requirements while decreasing phone bills and keeping control of the mobile-communications infrastructure in the hands of IT administrators," said Max Cooter, Editor, Techworld. "They beat the competition by their innovative and agnostic approach to handling mobile convergence." "Winning this award, in conjunction with the success we are experiencing in our sales channel since introducing this product to market, is a huge compliment to our entire team. This win is especially meaningful to our channel partners as they are doing an amazing job of generating interest across all the vertical markets in Europe and in the US. Winning prestigious awards such as Techworld's Mobile Computing Product of the year, serve to validate their efforts," said Gordon Young, VP of Sales and Managing Director of DiVitas's European office.
