FTS, HP Working on Joint Products

FTS, a vendor of Business Control, Billing & CRM products for communications service providers, has announced that it is working with HP to make network, service and payment products.

FTS officials say this offering is targeted at service providers looking to blend services from multiple networks -- voice, video, data, and content -- supporting prepaid, postpaid, and hybrid payment methods.

The product delivers integration starting with service control and media platform through online charging, billing and CRM. Its high integration provides for lower OPEX (News - Alert) and reduced Total-Cost-of-Ownership, company officials say.

Based on FTS' Business Control Layer technology, the company's Leap Billing and CRM converged product will be integrated and marketed with HP's OpenCall Service Access Controller and HP's OpenCall Media Platform for communications service providers.

Earlier in the week FTS announced the launch of Leap Business Control Engine Mobile Edition, what company officials term "a policy control and charging network element based on FTS' Business Control Layer technology."

Leap BCE (News - Alert) Mobile Edition lets have real-time customer interaction by "capturing and responding to events in real-time based on a pre-configured set of business policies," company officials say, and adapting network or service behavior in response to customer interaction.

In addition to Leap BCE Mobile Edition, FTS offers a prepaid and postpaid convergent billing platform, promising "convergence on multiple levels, with fully integrated SCP/charging/billing and CRM."

In related news Allot Communications (News - Alert), a vendor of IP service optimization products based on deep packet inspection, and FTS have recently "partnered to deliver service providers a comprehensive and integrated platform for real-time visibility and business management of customer services," Allot officials say.

The joint product is deployed alongside existing systems and comes equipped with interfaces into billing, CRM, and other BSS systems as well as standard southbound interfaces into the network.

Late last month FTS announced that it has acquired North American customers and personnel from Systems Integrator Danet, Inc.

FTS is purchasing the customers' contracts from Danet, a Systems Integrator with experience in implementing and supporting Leap Billing RC (formerly RevChain), FTS' North American-specific billing product.
