India to host country's first luxury goods summit from Jan 13


(Asia In Focus Via Thomson Dialog NewsEdge)MUMBAI, Jan 12 Asia in Focus - The 'Hindustan Times Luxury summit', aimed at encouraging India to emerge as a major retail hub, will begin here from January 13. The two-day summit will provide a platform for international luxury houses to interact with Indian government and industrialists.



* Shobhana Bhartia, vice chairperson and editorial director of HT MEDIA, said the idea behind the summit was to get marketing gurus and CEOs of some of top luxury and retail brands to come and talk to Indian audiences, retailers and fashion designers and try to tell them what is the way forward.

* Top executives of LOUIS VUITTON, BRIONI and the GUCCI GROUP will be among speakers at the summit.
