Boingo Roams with Wjoy, Adding Fast-Growing Netherlands Wi-Fi Network to European Footprint

SANTA MONICA, Calif. --(Business Wire)-- Boingo Wireless, the world's leading Wi-Fi service provider for business travelers, and Amsterdam-based Wjoy have announced a roaming agreement that adds one of the fastest-growing Wi-Fi networks in The Netherlands to the Boingo(R) Roaming System.

Wjoy's nationwide network includes nearly 240 hot spots at hotels, restaurants, conference centers and campsites. The company launched its network in early 2005 with plans to blanket the country with more than 500 locations by the end of 2006, making wireless Internet access ubiquitous.

The roaming agreement builds on Boingo's existing network of nearly 600 business-related hot spots in the Netherlands, including Amsterdam International Airport -- Schiphol, and the country's four national airports.

"The diversity of locations in the Wjoy network are a great complement to the Boingo Roaming System and help set the stage for expanded applications and network uses throughout The Netherlands for both the business traveler and users of next-generation Wi-Fi devices," said Luis Serrano, Director of EMEA and LATAM for Boingo.

"Boingo's focus on business travelers is a perfect complement to our focus on the 'Wi-Fi generation' who are eager technology users and first adopters of new innovations like wireless VoIP," said Marco Vis, managing director of Wjoy. "Working with Boingo is a big step forward to making our network available to the largest possible user base."

60,801 Reasons to Use Boingo

Boingo gives business travelers the best choice of Wi-Fi hot spots by combining over 60,000 locations from more than 140 leading Wi-Fi operators into one worldwide network. Boingo users can connect to any of these locations with a single Boingo account using Boingo's free Wi-Fi client software, which combines more than 660 network names into one "Boingo Wireless(R)" network to simplify identifying and connecting to commercial Wi-Fi networks.

The program provides partners with access to this network, customized client software and a full suite of back-office billing, roaming, mediation and clearinghouse services to allow them to offer their own Wi-Fi service quickly and cost effectively. To date, the company has announced Platform Services partnerships with BT Infonet, EarthLink, Fiberlink, Helio LLC, Nextel Communications, Verizon Business and Telecom Italia.
