Xirrus' Award-Winning Wi-Fi Array Delivers Successful Network for Interop New York 2006

WESTLAKE VILLAGE, Calif. --(Business Wire)-- Xirrus, Inc., the only provider of high capacity, long range Wi-Fi products that can effectively extend wired network capabilities to wireless - without compromise, announced the successful deployment of its award-winning Wi-Fi networking solution at Interop New York 2006. The event, the leading IT forum for industry leaders and IT professionals, ran from September 18th to the 22nd at the Jacob K. Javits Convention Center in New York City. The Xirrus solution provided Wi-Fi access to the entire event which included 100 educational sessions and 150+ exhibitors covering approximately 353,000 square feet.

"We are proud to have successfully provided the Wi-Fi connectivity for Interop New York," said Dirk Gates, CEO of Xirrus. "This further validates the power of our 4th Generation architecture and our capacity to handle thousands of users while deploying fewer devices than our competitors."

Interop collaborates with hand-selected leading networking vendors to provide reliable, high-speed network services to all Interop exhibitors, conferences and meetings rooms. The result, called InteropNet, is a superior network that addressed the complete networking needs of the forum and sets the bar for innovation and expertise. Xirrus was selected as a key collaborator for InteropNet because of its innovative Wi-Fi networking solution.

"We needed a resilient Wi-Fi network that could be easily deployed in a day and with less equipment than what we have dealt with in the past," said Glenn Evans, lead network engineer for InteropNet. "Xirrus offered this as well as provided the necessary wireless range and bandwidth for attendees utilizing an assortment of Wi-Fi clients."

"Xirrus was selected because of its innovative approach to expanding wireless bandwidth that offers exceptional and secure wireless capabilities for enterprise campus environments," said Lenny Heymann, Interop General Manager.

Xirrus deployed eleven XS 3900 Arrays that delivered nearly 10Gbps of Wi-Fi bandwidth for more than 11,000 potential users covering the Convention Center's lobby, classrooms and exhibit hall.
