CSR joins WiBree Forum

CAMBRIDGE, England --(Business Wire)-- CSR plc (LSE:CSR):

Ref: EME9949

CSR plc (LSE:CSR) announced today that it is joining the WiBree forum. WiBree is a new radio standard that opens up a new market for ultra low power wireless connections to button battery cell powered, devices; one not yet served effectively by other radio technologies.

WiBree is not competitive to Bluetooth, rather it complements it, building upon much of the existing Bluetooth technology base. CSR will continue to increase its investment in the Bluetooth SIG.

This will further widen CSR's portfolio beyond Bluetooth, WiFi, UWB and now to include WiBree and will leverage the strength CSR has as the leading supplier of wireless connectivity devices into the cellular phone industry.

Details of the WiBree forum are available here: http://www.nokia.co.uk/nokia/0,8764,33198,00.html
