Laser skin kit shines for Llanelli venture

(Western Mail Via Thomson Dialog NewsEdge)A west Wales laser skin rejuvenation venture said it has made considerable progress since listing on the London Stock Exchange last year. Chairman of Chromogenex of Llanelli, Peter McGuinness, said the market for aesthetic medicine and cosmetic laser equipment was growing rapidly worldwide, fuelled by new applications and innovative technology, as well as expansion into non-traditional markets.

The company engineers laser technology to deal with tattoos, acne and unwanted hair.

Mr McGuinness said, 'Our Chromolite system introduced in 2004 has been well received in the market and has contributed greatly to our growth and profitability. The product is selling well in the major markets of UK, France, Germany and Canada.

'We received FDA approval for Chromolite in January this year thus paving the way for entry to the US market and sales to date have been encouraging.

'We anticipate a continued increase going forward, backed by studies in the US and Germany which have confirmed the efficacy of Chromolite for hair removal and skin rejuvenation. 'We have recently expanded our sales team to develop new markets and increase domestic sales in the UK and in overseas territories. 'We expect to appoint and develop new distributors in the Middle and Far East for all products during the remainder of this year.'
