Motricity Partners with VoiceAge Networks for Multimedia Content Adaptation; Motricity's Fuel 5 Enhanced with Optimized Content Transcoding Capabilities Powered by SPOTxde(R) Server

LONDON --(Business Wire)-- May 24, 2006 -- Motricity, a global leader in mobile marketplace management, announced today that it has signed an agreement with VoiceAge Networks, the forerunner in mobile multimedia content adaptation, and has deployed the company's SPOTxde(R) Server on Motricity's Fuel 5 suite.

In response to growing demand for high-value mobile content such as full-track music and video, Motricity has integrated SPOTxde Server to its suite of content optimization and developer services. The partnership will allow Motricity's customers to adapt media to the optimal format for the requesting device, while maintaining the fidelity and integrity of the original multimedia content. In addition, Motricity has licensed VoiceAge Networks' Device Profile Module, which enables access to more than 8,000 device profiles for existing and future mobile devices as they are introduced to consumers worldwide from all of the leading manufacturers.

This solution will allow Media and Entertainment companies, mobile network operators (MNOs), mobile virtual network operators (MVNOs) and content providers to accelerate their time-to-market with minimum up-front cost and risk. With content adaptation, MNOs and MVNOs will see vast improvements in the successful delivery of rich-media messages, as the risks arising from interoperability issues are automatically neutralized.

"Availability of rich-media content clearly presents opportunities for mobile operators to enrich their offers. The complexity involved in optimizing all of this content for all capable devices will lead some mobile operators to consider a third-party content provisioning business model", said John Delaney, Principal Analyst at OVUM.

Commenting on the deployment, Jean Mayrand, Chief Executive Officer of VoiceAge Networks said "We are very pleased to have been selected by Motricity. There is an excellent fit between SPOTxde Server and Motricity's Fuel 5. Motricity customers will more than ever benefit from its expertise in creating compelling, dynamic and differentiated experience for their end-users."

Media and Entertainment companies in particular have a large amount of content designed for consumption on the Web or via TV. Motricity, through VoiceAge Networks' content adaptation software platform, can allow its Media and Entertainment partners to extend their brands to the mobile device. Motricity will build on its existing content optimization services to adapt content for the mobile device and test it to ensure an ideal user experience.

"We selected the VoiceAge Networks content adaptation solution based on the coverage provided across all media types and formats, across all devices and all networks. They also demonstrated great vision and depth from a roadmap perspective," said Ryan Wuerch, chairman and chief executive officer for Motricity. "High-quality video and full-track music downloads are the future of mobile content, and by partnering with VoiceAge Networks, Motricity is poised to lead the industry in the delivery of this content."
