Vodavi and Converged Access Ink VoIP Reseller Deal

Vodavi and Converged Access today announced that they partnered to provide traffic management and quality of service (QoS) systems for VoIP networks. The new partnership calls for Vodavi to resell Converged Access' Converged Traffic Manager (CTM) and Converged Access Point (CAP) systems to Vodavi's authorized dealers.

Enterprise customers deploying the Converged Access and Vodavi's XTS-IP and TeleniumIP communications system bundle can now employ traffic management, and other WAN optimization and application control techniques. The Converged Access systems enable network managers to set priority levels for voice and data applications so that voice traffic is protected with Quality of Service (QoS) over the private network.

"Segmenting traffic on networks that have never had voice on it before can present challenges to any enterprise," said Rich Gralto, vice president of sales for Vodavi in a statement. "Our partnership with Converged Access now gives Vodavi dealers the ability to offer proven enterprise traffic and performance management solutions that eliminate these challenges and ensure the quality of conducting traffic shaping, bandwidth allocation and prioritization at the onset of the network installation rather than realizing any potential problems after implementing VoIP."

The Converged Traffic Manager enables toll-quality VoIP, jitter-free IP video, and business-IP response times. The product integrates traffic monitoring, traffic management, compression and caching with advanced application layer visibility and control to assure WAN efficiency and application performance for converging IP voice, data and video applications.

Today's announcement follows Vodavi's deal with CompUSA.  The office supplies superstore selected Vodavi's carrier class IP terminals to support the retailer's offering of Bandwidth.com's Hosted VoIP solution for small to medium-sized commercial customers nationwide. Bandwidth.com is providing carrier VoIP network services for voice and data transport. The CompUSA offering was unveiled today.

The agreement called for CompUSA to deploy Vodavi's family of 6800 Series Hosted IP terminals, enabling the retailer to provide carrier-grade telephones that include all the features and functionality of a traditional desktop telephone coupled with the advantages of advanced IP technology. The devices will be compatible with standard protocols such as MGCP and SIP. The Vodavi 6800 Series phones interact with Bandwidth.com's hosted Call Server to access features of the server as well as place and receive calls.
