Infravio Preps for ''Year of SOA Web Services'' with New Board Member

CUPERTINO, Calif. --(Business Wire)-- March 29, 2005 -- Former Mercury Interactive Exec Bolsters Company's Commitment to the Service-Oriented Architecture (SOA) Registry Arena

Infravio, Inc., a leading provider of SOA Web Services Management products, today announced that it is preparing to take advantage of "The Year of Web Services" by adding Ido Sarig, former vice president of technology strategy for Mercury Interactive Corporation, to the company's Board of Directors.

"2005 will be the Year of SOA Web Services," said Srinivas Balasubramanian, founder and CEO for Infravio. "We are seeing a pronounced shift in the maturation of the Web services market with organizations moving beyond discussion into implementing strategic SOA initiatives. Ido's charter at Mercury and Web services pioneer Confluent has given him a deep understanding of the design-time demands facing these organizations, and that expertise will enrich our technology and product strategy."

Sarig added, "Organizations with more than a few Web services now realize that the registry is the core design component for SOA projects. You can't design a coherent SOA without a registry -- the only practical way to manage disparate distributed services. Infravio is one of a few companies that have invested the time and engineering effort to build a full-featured SOA registry."

At Mercury, Sarig was charged with formulating the company's technology roadmap, and searching for and evaluating new technologies and business opportunities for Mercury. Under his leadership and direction, Mercury acquired Kintana, Appilog, Performant and Allerez in 2003 -- 2004.

Sarig joined Mercury in 1990 as a software engineer and moved on to hold various management and executive positions over the past ten years. Past positions at Mercury include posts in the United States, Europe and Israel, including vice president of product marketing for the APM business unit, director of strategic alliances and director of European marketing. As vice president of product marketing for the APM business unit, he successfully launched Topaz, the first APM solution for real-time monitoring of a user's experience on the Web. Prior to joining Mercury, Sarig was a software engineer at Daisy Systems.

Sarig currently sits on the advisory board of Business Signatures, a VC-backed startup providing real-user monitoring software for Web applications, and Leverage Software, a privately held San Francisco company providing social networking software. He also was on the advisory board of Confluent, a pioneering Web services company which was acquired by Oblix.

A well-received speaker, Sarig has participated in venues, such as STAR; EuroSTAR; Software Quality Europe, International Motif/CDE Users Conference; Serena's Xchange User's Conference; and SAPPHIRE, among many others. At EuroSTAR, his presentation on "Building in Software TestPoints" was selected by attendees as one of the top ten papers at the conference.

Sarig holds an MBA, Magna Cum Laude, from Tel Aviv University, and a Bachelor of Science degree, Cum Laude, in Computer Engineering from the Technion -- Israel Institute of Technology.
