Fathom Online Appoints Industry Veterans as CFO and VP Product Management; Taps Talent from Alibris and AOL

SAN FRANCISCO --(Business Wire)-- July 12, 2005 -- Fathom Online, a leading search engine marketing company, announced today the appointment of Steve Gillan to the position of Chief Financial Officer and Mike Goos to the position of Vice President Product Management, effective immediately. Gillan, a seasoned executive experienced in managing a full range of finance activities in corporate, start-up and international settings, will oversee all finance and accounting functions at Fathom. Goos, a 15 year veteran of the software industry, will lead Fathom's initiative to develop new products and solutions. Both executives report directly to Fathom Online CEO Chris Churchill.

Gillan was most recently CFO at Alibris, a leading e-commerce and global supply chain services firm offering over 50 million books to consumers and retailers such as Amazon.com and Barnes & Noble. While there, he managed three acquisitions, two rounds of private equity financing, and the preparation and filing for an IPO. Prior to Alibris, Gillan spent nine years at Raychem Corporation, holding a number of finance positions, including SEC Reporting Manager, Controller for Greater China, Director of Finance for Asia, and Vice President of Finance for the Chemelex division.

"We've had tremendous success in the past six months adding high caliber executives to our management team," said Chris Churchill, Fathom's founder and CEO. "Steve and Mike add solid depth to this already seasoned team. Steve's knowledge and his passion for process will be extremely important to Fathom's future expeditious growth. Mike is an industry veteran familiar with the search ecosystem and in tune with search customer needs."

Mike Goos comes to Fathom from AOL where he was immersed in search and RSS (Really Simple Syndication) feeds technology. Before AOL, Goos further honed his experience in search marketing and website analytics at CoreMetrics. Goos played significant roles in both the technology and product success of companies such as GeoCities (acquired by Yahoo!) and Autodesk.
