State of Arkansas Selects Sprint for Wireless Voice and Data Solutions

OVERLAND PARK, Kan., April 14 /PRNewswire/ -- Sprint has been awarded a new one-year contract by the Arkansas Department of Information Resources to provide their full wireless solution portfolio. The contract will allow Arkansas state agencies to gain access to wireless voice and data services and devices, including Sprint PCS Vision(SM) Phones and Sprint PCS Connection Cards(TM), to enhance mobile communications for state employees.

Several wireless data services are available through this contract, including Sprint PCS Business Connection(SM) Enterprise Edition, which allows users secure wireless access to their agency email system via select web-enabled Sprint PCS Phones, Sprint PCS Vision Smart Devices and handheld devices/laptops anywhere on the enhanced Sprint Nationwide PCS Network. Additionally, Sprint PCS Data Link(SM) provides employees a secure, high-speed wireless connectivity solution to access their agency's Intranet, databases, applications, shared files and Internet using a Sprint PCS Connection Card with a laptop or PDA via the enhanced Sprint Nationwide PCS Network. Also available is Sprint PCS Ready Link(SM), a nationwide two-way walkie-talkie style service that gives users a quick, convenient way to communicate one-on- one or to groups of up to five with the simple push of a button.
