Sylantro Extends Hosted Communications Services To PBX Station Users

Sylantro Systems Corporation, a provider of IP Centrex and hosted communications applications, announced an industry-first option for businesses that extends hosted communications services to PBX station users, and provides new options for adding and migrating users to advanced IP Centrex capabilities. GoBeam, the leading provider of managed communications services for small- and medium-sized businesses, worked with Sylantro to help define and test these new services and will be the first service provider to roll out the new capabilities.

Businesses that own PBX systems often desire new productivity-enhancing options and features, but are faced with large costs to upgrade, expand or replace their premise-based equipment. Sylantro, with GoBeam's support, has developed an option that allows PBX station users to access advanced features such as hosted directories, click-to-call, Microsoft® Outlook® integration, unified messaging, conferencing and more. Further, businesses can augment PBXs with new services while providing other offices or select users with full IP Centrex services, all while maintaining a single dialing plan.

Sylantro has consistently been an innovator in recognizing the application requirements of business users, said Bill Jarvis, chief executive officer of GoBeam. We are pleased to be working closely with Sylantro on these applications to bring new services to PBX users and offer customers a viable migration path.

Business users can now mix and match phone capabilities to fit the needs of their employees while maintaining a common dialing plan -- without requiring additional investment in PBX equipment. Traditional phones can be enabled with IP Centrex services or continue to use PBX capabilities. Newer IP phones may be used with IP Centrex services to support remote users or extend PBX capacity. Further, users gain access to a personal Web portal without requiring additional software on the user's PC - or optionally, users can choose to use an integrated Outlook interface.

Sylantro's enhanced options for PBX users provide a new incremental revenue source for service providers beyond simple IP trunking.

Sylantro's IP Centrex feature set allows service providers to offer a wide range of high-value PBX replacement services, providing new revenues beyond simple access and transport. A rich suite of applications and development tools allows service providers to quickly and efficiently roll out new differentiated services. Through Sylantro's vision and valued partners such as GoBeam, businesses can now avail themselves of advanced IP Centrex capabilities throughout their organizations, regardless of existing premise equipment.
