SnowShore Networks Introduces SnowShore Software Media Server

SnowShore Networks, innovators in IP enhanced communications infrastructure products, introduced the SnowShore Software Media Server, extending its family of media server products. With the addition of the Software Media Server, SnowShore provides the most extensive set of media server delivery options to its partners, further strengthening SnowShore's market leadership in the media server category. Featuring the same full-featured SIP-based architecture Featuring a flexible standards-based architecture, the SnowShore Software Media Server is a deployment-ready product that enables the delivery of advanced multimedia services at higher rack density, lower scale, and lower solution entry cost.

Rapidly delivering feature-rich, high value, multimedia communications is the underlying mission at SnowShore, said Joel Hughes, SnowShore CEO. The SnowShore Software Media Server was designed with this simple vision in mind. It provides our customers and partners with a flexible, scalable and cost effective platform for delivering their solutions to market. Partners and customers can easily integrate their solutions with our new platform due to its standards-based architecture and embeddable design. Its open architecture mirrors SnowShore's hardware-based A1 and N20 Media Servers, ensuring that SnowShore media server products, regardless of form, deliver on their promise to partners and customers.

The SnowShore Software Media Server is an entry-level 1U appliance that runs on the now widely adopted Linux Operating System and is powered by dual Intel* Xeon* Processors. Leveraging the same rich features as SnowShore's hardware-based, A1 and N20 media servers, the SnowShore Software Media Server is capable of supporting multiple applications simultaneously, or being tightly integrated within a single application solution. Its 25 to 250-port capacity coupled with its standards-based design provides partners with the flexibility to deploy a wide range of IP services in both the enterprise and service provider environments.

We are excited to integrate Ubiquity's Speak Conference Director with SnowShore's Software Media Server, said Jeff Liebl, VP, Marketing and Product Management of Ubiquity. The SnowShore Software Media Server's standards-based design, lower capacity and rich features gives Ubiquity greater deployment flexibility with our Speak Conferencing Director enabling us to offer a feature-differentiated IP-based rich media conferencing solution to a wider range of markets at a lower cost.
