Navigation Technologies Integrating NAVTECH Maps In Garmin's StreetPilot And iQue Products

Navigation Technologies, a leading provider of digital maps for vehicle navigation, Internet / wireless, government, and business solutions, is integrating NAVTECH maps in Garmin's newest U.S. and European mobile turn-by-turn mapping products, the StreetPilot 2610/2650 and the iQue 3600.

Garmin International, Inc. chose Navigation Technologies as the preferred map data partner for these mobile turn-by-turn products because of the quality, reliability and accuracy of NAVTECH maps. NAVTECH maps help Garmin users identify the quickest route to their destination, using voice prompts and graphically displayed turn-by-turn directions. NAVTECH maps are infused with more than 150 attributes such as turn restrictions, one-way streets and street signs -- key pieces of information that makes travel easier and more efficient. Garmin street navigation product users also benefit from access to the extensive points-of-interest categories -- including restaurants, police stations, gas stations, tourist attractions and ATMs -- available through NAVTECH maps.

NAVTECH maps are included with the new Street Pilot 2610/2650 as well as the recently released iQue 3600 -- the first product to integrate GPS and
turn-by-turn navigation into a full-featured mobile PDA device. NAVTECH maps
are also included or available for use with many other Garmin mobile navigation devices including the NavTalk(R) GSM Phone and the GPS V.

"Garmin has always stood for high quality products, and Navigation Technologies has always been focused on delivering high quality map data. With that in mind, the pairing of these two companies means superior navigation system performance and an enhanced customer experience," commented Navigation Technologies' Winston Guillory, Senior Vice President - North American Sales.

"Our first use of NAVTECH maps was in the StreetPilot in Europe. We were so pleased with the depth and quality of the data that we are now using it in many of our mobile navigation devices," said Gary Kelley, Director of Marketing for Garmin International. "Integrating NAVTECH maps into our mobile navigation products provides our customers with the best mapping capabilities possible."
