Woman with gun, large nose, raspy voice sought in North Knox County robbery


Jan 15, 2013 (The Knoxville News-Sentinel - McClatchy-Tribune Information Services via COMTEX) -- A woman armed with a gun and a death threat robbed a North Knox County market and escaped with an undisclosed amount of cash.

The robber also sported "a distinctively large nose and deep, raspy voice," according to the Knox County Sheriff's Office.

The heist was reported about 8:30 p.m. Monday at the Super Stop Market, 1325 E. Beaver Creek Drive, according to the Sheriff's Office. No one was physically injured during the robbery.

The woman entered the gas station and looked around "for a few minutes" before she approached the woman working behind the counter, according to the Sheriff's Office. The robber then produced a gun and demanded cash. The robber threatened to "shoot and kill her (clerk) if she did not open the cash register drawer," according to the Sheriff's Office.



No getaway vehicle was noted. The robber fled toward Emory Road.

Authorities described the robber as white, about 5 feet, 5 inches tall, weighing 130-150 pounds, with a thin build and brown eyes and hair. She was wearing heavy makeup with blue eye shadow. She wore a pink or red T-shirt, a gray hooded sweatshirt, tight blue jeans and UGG style boots.


Authorities ask that anyone with information about the robbery call the Sheriff's Office at 865-215-2243.
