TRS Institute Announces Externship Program for its Medical Transcription Students

SHREWSBURY, Mass. --(Business Wire)--

TRS Institute (TRSi), the nation's leading provider of AHDI-approved online medical transcription and speech recognition training programs, announces an innovative externship which will be available to graduates of its online medical transcription training program. The TRSi Medical Transcription Externship Program is designed to bridge the gap between education and employment.

CEO Peter Reilly says that although the demand for medical transcription services is high and trending up, graduates of medical transcription schools often face the classic dilemma common to recent graduates in many industries: employers want to hire people with demonstrated experience, and in a tough job market, employers can afford to be selective. "Because TRSi has partnerships with and interests in medical transcription service organizations (MTSO), we are able to offer our graduates this externship to help them build their resume and speak from a position of confidene when talking with today's MTSO recruiters. The externship offers graduates actual hands-on work experience and job references in the medical transcription arena." Externship participants will gain experience providing services to a wide range of organizations that require medical transcription services, such as physician's offices, multi-specialty practices, community hospitals, acute care hospitals and academic medical centers.

Reilly says that TRSi's Medical Transcription Externship Program demonstrates the school's commitment to help its students become gainfully employed in the field as soon as possible. The program will help graduates log work experience and earn the job references that are vital to launching a successful career. In another recent initiative geared to helping students become employed as soon as possible, TRSi also introduced an accelerated online training option, which will allow medical transcription training students to graduate sooner and enjoy substantial savings on tuition.
