TEOCO Upgrades Wireless Device Testing Capabilities to Cover 4.9G: Cellular IoT & Mobile BroadbandCOLUMBIA, Md., Sept. 13, 2017 /PRNewswire/ -- As an integral part of a global strategic alliance TEOCO, the leading provider of analytics, assurance and optimization solutions to over 300 CSPs and OEMs worldwide, has expanded its market-leading testing capabilities with test solutions from Rohde & Schwarz covering eMTC, NB-IoT and LAA. With this added capacity and capability, TEOCO's Aircom Labs and CTS MC Labs will now be able to support the latest conformance (GCF & PTCRB) and network operator acceptance test requirements associated with LTE Release 13 from all major Tier-1 carriers in the United States – Verizon Wireless, AT&T Wireless, T-Mobile and Sprint. These upgrades also prepare TEOCO's multiple cutting-edge labs in Silicon Valley and Dallas, Texas to cover the challenges that come with LTE Release 14 & 15, which will further enhance mobile broadband, IoT, reliability and latency capabilities of wireless devices on the path to 5G. LTE-Advanced Pro (3GPP Release 13 onwards) introduced many new features aimed at increasing data rates beyond 1 Gbps for mobile devices. Carrier aggregation (CA) was introduced in LTE Release 10 and was capable of supporting up to five component carriers for a total bandwidth of 100MHz, while LTE-Advanced Pro further extends this to support up to 32 component carriers for much greater bandwidths delivering pre-5G gigabit data rate performance. Also in Release 13, the ability to leverage unlicensed spectrum with LAA greatly expands the available spectrum for high-speed devices. Higher order MIMO systems (with up to 64 antenna ports) and full-dimension beamforming are also key technologies improved in Release 13 to help address future capacity demands. With all these new technologies comes increased device complexity at the RF, baseband and protocol levels. "We must be prepared for the vast range of future mobile devices – many of which we have already begun teting in our expert labs. LTE enhancements are pushing the feature sets of devices in two completely opposite directions, whether it's a high-speed mobile device pushing 1.2 Gbps or a C-IoT device that needs to survive 20 years on a single battery," said Hemant Minocha, Executive Vice President at TEOCO. "It is critical that we equip our engineers across multiple labs with the innovative and cutting-edge tools to cover the wide range of evolving requirements. Our strategic partnership with Rohde & Schwarz makes this possible, combining our RF expertise and further integrating our labs to bring next generation solutions to the marketplace." Rohde & Schwarz's test solutions for 5G, IoT and LTE-Advanced Pro can be seen at Mobile World Congress Americas September 12-14, 2017 at the Hall North Stand N.1360.
